Using ClearQR
ClearQR is provided free of charge, as-is, for generating QR codes for personal and commercial use. You're free to use the QR codes you generate however you like, including in printed materials, packaging, and advertising.
Acceptable use
Don't use ClearQR to generate codes for content that's illegal, fraudulent, or intended to deceive or harm others, including phishing pages, malware distribution, or impersonation of another person or business. Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the site in ways that interfere with other users' ability to use it.
Your responsibility for content
You're responsible for the accuracy and legality of the information you encode, including any URLs, contact details, or messages. ClearQR does not review or moderate the content of codes you generate, since nothing you type is sent to us.
Intellectual property
The ClearQR name, logo, and site design belong to ClearQR. The QR codes you generate, and any content you encode into them, are yours; ClearQR claims no ownership over them. The open-source libraries this site depends on (see the About page) remain under their own respective licenses.
Third-party services and destinations
Where a QR code you generate points to a third-party destination, such as a website, a social media profile, or a review platform, that destination is operated independently and outside ClearQR's control. ClearQR is not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any site or service a QR code links to.
No guarantees on destinations
The destination itself, though, still needs to remain available: if you delete the page a QR code points to, the code will still scan, but visitors will land on a dead link. If you need to change the destination later, create a new QR code; a static code can't be redirected after it's printed.
Service availability
ClearQR runs entirely in your browser, but the site itself still depends on hosting and the libraries it's built on. We aim to keep it available and working, but don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime, and the site may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control.
No warranty
ClearQR is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We aim for reliability but can't guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClearQR and its operator aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including a QR code that fails to scan, a destination that becomes unavailable, or any decision made based on content generated here.
Changes to the service
Features may be added, changed, or removed over time as ClearQR continues to develop. We'll try to avoid breaking changes to existing QR code formats, but can't guarantee every feature will remain exactly as it is indefinitely.
